Matthews Point Marina and Yacht Sales is located on the south side of the Neuse River, between New Bern, NC and the Pamlico Sound. Our location gives us the benefits of the finest sailing area in North Carolina plus convenient access by highway and air.

    We are 8 nautical miles from Oriental, NC, and 4 nautical miles from the Intercoastal Waterway (Adams/Core Creek). Our latitude and longitude are 34.90735N (34:54:50N);76.89490W (76:45:75W) (See NOAA chart 11552).

    There are two convenient airports: RDU (Raleigh, NC) and New Bern.  RDU is a large airport that is a 2.5 hour drive from us.  There are also flights into New Bern, NC (30 minutes away).

    Driving Directions:

    We are located between Havelock, NC and Morehead City/Beaufort, NC, just off NC 101.  You can reach us from the Research Triangle, NC, or from Interstate 95, via US 70 (4 lane, divided highway).  Below are written directions, or you can use our map:
    • From RDU airport:
      • Take Interstate 40 East to US 70 East (15 miles).
      • Take US 70 East past Interstate 95.
      • Continue on US 70 East through Goldsboro (20 miles) to Kinston (approx 17 miles from Goldsboro).  Continue to New Bern (31 miles from Kinston) and to Havelock, NC (another 16 miles).
      • Continue on US 70 East until you reach NC Highway 101.
      • Turn left onto NC Highway 101. There is a Ford dealership on the left side of this intersection.  After you make the turn, get into the far right lane (left lanes turn into Cherry Point MCAS).
      • Follow  NC 101 a total of 7.1 miles to Temples Point Road. You will pass the Cherry Point Marine Corps Air Station and NC Highway 306.  Temples Point Road is the first intersection past NC 306.  There will be a small church on the left at the intersection.
      • Turn left on Temples Point Road.
      • Go 4.5 miles to Matthews Point Marina and Yacht Sales, at the end of Temples Point Road.
    • From Interstate 95
