This is a classic beauty designed by Olin Stephens for Tartan Marine. "Sky Bird" is hull number 32 of more than 500 built from 1968 thru 1978. This vessel has been upgraded with a 21 hp FWC Westerbeke 3 cylinder diesel with 806 hours. The engine had the motor mounts replaced and the heat exchanger and exhaust systems reworked in 2001. In 2000 she had new standing rigging, all through hulls replaced and all 12 volt wiring replaced. Sails include a full batten main new in 2000 and a 160% genoa on Harken roller furling. She has been upgraded with the traveler on the cabin top. Halyards are also new. This Tartan has been upgraded from tiller to wheel steering and she has a great cockpit measuring almost 9' long. There is a marine head, 36 gal of fresh water with hand pumps, alcohol two burner stove, four opening ports, VHF, depth/speed meters, Aqua Temp reverse cycle air/heat, Danforth anchor and rode.
