The sail rig was converted from the original cat ketch rig with wishbone booms to conventional booms with full batten mains plus two staysails (see photo). This allows the boat to sail upwind more efficiently and maintains the original Freedom Yachts concept of unstayed or freestanding masts. Freedom Yachts are well known for their stout construction and room below. This Freedom hull was shipped to St Petersburg, Florida, where its very nice insulated interior was constructed by the well known Eschner Yachts and completed in 1983. The interior is well suited for a liveaboard or extended cruising boat with lots of storage and a very comfortable layout. The combination of a ballasted shallow draft keel with a well designed centerboard gives this boat the flexibility to safely cruise anywhere. A new engine and transmission in 2002 and hydraulic steering further enhance this vessel. Please see broker for many more details of this great boat
